Macayla has been riding for Amore since the beginning, part of our original four riders who helped kick this whole thing off. One of the first things I noticed about her was her killer style, and I’m not just talking about her skating. She always shows up in the coolest outfits and brings her own personality to everything she does.

Let’s start simple: Goofy or regular?  I skate Goofy!

Do you remember your first skateboard, or a board that holds a special place in your heart?

When I was 17, I got an 8” pink and blue Chocolate board for my birthday; it was the first board I learned all my foundational tricks on, like dropping in and carving, so it holds a special place in my heart.

How did you first get into skateboarding, and what made you want to stick with it?

I grew up watching skate videos but it wasn’t until about 17, I mustered up the courage to go get a board and try the skatepark. One of the first few times going to the park I was invited to a girls event at Gold Hill, shout out Carly for that invite. The stoke from that event lit a fire for me !

What’s one of your favorite memories or adventures you’ve had because of skateboarding?

WOF 2026 was amazing and among some of my favorite memories skating, road tripping through California and Arizona one winter as well, I was a part of making a new DIY in slab city that trip, went to Nude bowl, skated backyards, good times were had and I met a lot of cool people that trip.

Who are some skateboarders that inspire you or make you want to go skate after watching them? Ah it’s hard to just choose one favorite so im saying two ! Maite and Cata Diaz are both very inspiring to me. I love watching their video parts because I am always left wanting to go skate after, always so creative and stylish.

What advice would you give someone who’s just starting to skate?

My advice for beginners is that the less you focus on “getting good” and shift to loving the process of learning the more fun it is and makes it easier to progress because there is no pressure, and consistency is key!

Who do you currently riding for?

Amore! I am grateful to be riding for this company. It’s been really cool to see the product of all the hard work Sandy has done to make it what it is.

When you’re not skating, what other hobbies or things are you into?

I am such a hobby collector so to name a few in my free time you can find me practicing my photography, attempting to learn banjo, surfing, yoga, sewing, making jewelry, snowboarding, roller skating, hiking, mushroom hunting. I love anything that gets me to be outside more!
